Anniversaries

These are two of my children when they were little, Jenna and Adam. Jenna now has three tots under six.

The anniversary of Adam's death is this week. Sometimes, like this morning, it just hits me that I wish I could see Adam playing and being with Jenna's children. I imagine him being a super fun uncle!

On the other hand, I can feel him around the children in a positive way. That is a comforting experience for me. I am grateful that, as a family, we talk about Adam and remember Adam. His young nephews and niece know exactly where the photos of Adam are in their home.

Loss and grief are such a mix of thoughts, emotions, and experiences; missing, wondering, comforting, and even appreciating.
